Ingredients:
Cake layer:
1 cup flour
1 stick butter room temp
1/4 sugar
1 egg
pinch kosher salt
Apple layer:
3 medium apples
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground ginger
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
1/2 cup sugar
zest of one lemon
2 Tbsp sweet white wine
1 Tbsp flour
Preheat oven 400 degrees.
Mix all cake ingredients together just until well blended do not over mix. Spread in dish and refrigerate 15 minutes.
While cake layer is chilling. Peel, core and slice apples. Toss with sugar, spices, zest, wine and flour. Lay slices on cake layer. pour any juice left in bowl over apples.
Bake 30 to 40 minutes.
